Artax tactical flashlight from ESP
This tactical flashlight has a compact body that is made of very durable aircraft duralumin (type 6061). The front glass is made of polycarbonate. A secure and firm grip is ensured by the typical grooved surface, even if your hand is wet. It also allows you to hold the flashlight even with a strong blow. The flashlight is also not bothered by dust or rain, nor by immersion to a depth of 2 m thanks to IP68 certification.
The maximum luminous flux of 1900 lm and a range of up to 211 metres is taken care of by the Luminus SST-40 LED chip. The flashlight has 5 modes - 4 different light intensities and a strobe. It will be appreciated by armed or rescue forces as well as all outdoor enthusiasts.
The tactical flashlight is powered by a 18650 battery and you will find it in the package. You can also use 2 non-rechargeable CR 123A batteries (for example, when a charger is not handy).
The flashlight is designed as a so-called "defensive flashlight", because in crisis situations it can serve as an alternative self-defense device (in the manner of a kubotan or jawara). First you dazzle the aggressor with a bright light or strobe. This is quickly switched on with the tactical switch on the tailpiece. If the attack continues after that, you can use a variety of strikes - for example, a clenched fist with the flashlight clenched in your palm or the end of the flashlight protruding from your hand. The head of the flashlight is fitted with striking tips. These increase the intensity and effect of the blow.
The flashlight also has a tactical switch that is on the end of the flashlight. Use it to light the Artax flashlight in 100% power or strobe mode. If you press it lightly, the flashlight will light up as long as you hold the button (tactical mode). To activate the strobe, you have to press the switch quickly 2 times in a row. If you press the switch fully, the flashlight will light permanently in the selected mode. The button is rubber and is comfortable to operate even in service gloves. The clever shape of the end cap protects the switch from accidental pressing.
The other lighting modes are activated by a side button - this is located on the head. The mode changes are in the following order - 100% - 50% - 15% - 0.5%. If you turn the torch off for more than 2 seconds, then it will light up in 100% power mode.
There is a built-in coloured LED indicator in the side button. This shows the charge level of the inserted battery after switching on the torch (for 5s). Green color indicates 100-70% charge, orange color 70-30%, red color 30-10%, and red flashing indicates almost dead battery (less than 10%).
You can charge the embedded 18650 battery directly in the flashlight thanks to the built-in USB-C connector (protected by a rubber cap). The flashlight can be charged in about 4 hours. The flashlight comes with a 50 cm long USB cable with USB-A connector (the regular USB you know from your computer). You can charge the ARTAX flashlight via a regular smartphone charger, laptop or power bank. The LED indicator in the side button again informs you about the charging status. Red - the battery is charging, green - the battery is fully charged, or orange indicates a badly inserted or malfunctioning battery.
Only 18650 Li-Ion batteries with a protection circuit can be charged in this way. The flashlight cannot be used while charging. The 18650 battery can of course also be recharged in an external charger.
