Description
If a green circle is displayed on a variant, it means that in some combination of other variants, the selected variant is in stock. For example, a green circle on the "Color: black" variant means that a product in black is in stock at a size. Gradual selection of variants clarifies information on stock availability. You can start by selecting any variant.
The Squall Jacket complements the Helikon offer with the most modern outer layer for women. What is the difference between a softshell and a hardshell? A softshell jacket protects you from light winds and drizzle, primarily thanks to DWR impregnation. Hardshell isdesigned to provide much better water resistance while maintaining good breathability.
What are the properties of the 3-layer TorrentStretch membrane? It provides both waterproofing and breathability of the jacket. There is a microporous membrane between the thicker outer layer and the integrated lining. The pore size prevents water from penetrating the jacket. But they are also large enough to effectively wick moisture (in the form of water vapor) to the outside.
The design of the Squall women's jacket takes into account everything you expect from it. It has a great fit. It adapts perfectly to your body shape thanks to the drawcord at the hem, the drawcord at the hood and the cuffs are also adjustable with Velcro. The jacket has three pockets. Two are on the front and the third pocket is located inside - for documents or phone. Velcro panel on the left shoulder allows for personalization. When folded, the Squall jacket takes up little space - rolled up it fits into its hood.
It is a full-fledged rain jacket (30,000 mm waterproof) with taped seams and an adjustable hood with a high collar. Additional protection against moisture is provided by YKK® AquaGuard® waterproof zippers, the main zipper is two-way. The Squall Hardshell Jacket has a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) water repellent coating that is free of harmful PFCs (perfluorocarbons).
Another important parameter is breathability. The breathability value of the membrane used is 30 000 g/m2/24h. The RET parameter has a value of <5, which is very good. It is a parameter that tells us what ability the material has to wick away the moisture produced. The lower the RET factor, the lower resistance, so the jacket breathes better. The breathability of the jacket is also aided by the ventilation holes in the armpits, which help regulate body temperature.
The Squall jacket is designed for layering clothing. What does this mean? You can wear it over a short-sleeved thermal shirt when it gets cold or rainy in the mountains in the summer. In spring or autumn, wear a long-sleeved thermal shirt underneath. When it gets even colder, you can add a weaker sweatshirt made of functional material. If it's freezing, instead of a thin sweatshirt, wear a thicker, warmer sweatshirt - like a fleece sweatshirt. Layered clothing is better because of the air layer between the layers of clothing. It's important that all layers of clothing are made of functional material - they won't soak up body moisture, but let it pass further away from the body until it evaporates out through the jacket.
The membrane jacket should be maintained according to the instructions so that it does not lose its waterproof and breathability parameters. To strengthen them, it is worth systematically renewing the hydrophobic cover with DWR impregnant.
