The Byer Manufacturing Company was founded in 1880 in Bangor, Maine by a Russian immigrant family as a maker of slippers and textile products.

HISTORY OF HAMMOCKS
Initially, the hammock was intended for an overnight stay in the jungle, where it is not advisable to sleep on the ground due to insects.
