Softshell jackets can be compared according to their basic parameters.
DIVIDED INTO:
- membrane - those that have a medium textile membrane, have better waterproofing parameters and are more resistant to wind, may be less breathable and have less moisture wicking from the body
- woven - they do not have a membrane, waterproofness is assured by density of the upper layer and the upper impregnation treatment, in contrast to the membrane are more breathable
FURTHER, WE CAN DIVIDE THEM ACCORDING TO THE SEASONS:
- spring - medium-strength softshell with an inner side of uninsulated fabric, usually polyester or cotton
- summer - very thin softshell without inner layer
- winter - inner layer of strong warming material, most often fleece
